Miss Summers & Mrs Haslam-Jones
Our SEN Policy
Miss Summers (SENCO) and Mrs Haslam are the Intervention and Inclusion Team who support and teach the SEN children in our school. We will be working with groups/individuals during Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Miss Summers as SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) will be class based Monday - Thursday (Rec – 6) with Monday and Tuesday afternoon being the times for liaising with external agencies and paperwork. This is the time I am also available for meeting with parents as well as attending county run cluster meetings and training.
Mrs Haslam will be class based on three days in the mornings (Tues – Thurs) focusing on Rec – Yr 4.
We will be working with individual children and small groups focusing on areas of the curriculum where difficulties are being experienced, to help these children to achieve their full potential.
In the case of a child with an IPP (Individual Pupil Plan), the targets set will be focused on within the intervention time.
Each half term ‘drop –in sessions’ will be held; this is an opportunity to come and speak to us about any issues/concerns about your child. An additional letter will be sent out to explain the process and to book in a time slot.
if you have any questions or want to talk please contact school to arrange a convenient time.
